OPEN HOUSES THIS WEEKEND IN LOUISVILLE KY
Sometimes we may be curious about living in a particular area of town or neighborhood but may not be ready to commit to working with an agent. Maybe you haven’t decided if you are ready to sell your house but you want to see what homes are available. Also, if you aren’t for sure if you are ready to move, you may not want to inconvenience the sellers of a home by blocking off time to view it. All of these reasons are good reasons to visit an open house!
At open houses, agents anticipate people coming through just to browse. In fact, many times the people that visit the open houses are the neighbors of the people selling their home! Open houses are a great way to get a feel for a neighborhood or an area of town. At open houses, you can feel free to peruse through a home on your own time and for a longer period of time than most showings allow. Also, sometimes pictures of homes on the internet just don’t do justice for the home. Many times it is better to go take a look at home in person.
At the same time, there is nothing wrong with visiting an open house if you are serious about buying a home. Some people find it easier to go to an open house rather than having to have their agent schedule a showing for a home. Many times buyers will go view a home at an open house and bring their agent back if they decide it is a home he/she is interested in. If you do happen to have an agent and choose to go to an open house, make sure to inform the agent hosting the open house so that he/she doesn’t attempt to sell you on hiring him/her as your agent. Many times REALTORS hold open houses to allow many people to view the home at once. Open houses are typically held on Sundays and sometimes Saturdays. On the weekends, it is very popular to hold an open house from 2-4 p.m. If it a new construction neighborhood, sometimes the open house is held during the week as well.
