SHOPPING AND DINING IN LA GRANGE

There are several places to shop in LaGrange. For your grocery shopping, there is a Walmart located at 1015 New Moody Lane. Also, there is a Kroger located at 2034 Kentucky 53. If you are looking for a clothing store in La Grange, there are many boutiques to choose from. Couture Closet, Brazil Curve Kouture, Dizzy Dave’s East, and Elegant Image are a few boutiques you have to choose from. If you prefer to shop at a shopping center or mall, you can always drive to Louisville and visit Mall Saint Matthews, Oxmoor Mall, or the Paddock Shops.
La Grange is home to several great restaurants. Some of the favorites amongst residents of La Grange are One Nineteen West Main, Red Pepper Deli Café & Catering, Xrailsx Restaurant and Bar, Raw Sushi Bar and Grill, and Gustavo’s Mexican Grill. One Nineteen West Man is a locally owned restaurant known for their big portions. One Nineteen offers a wide array of menu options from Noonbin Reuben Wontons to Kentucky Eggplant Fries. Xrails Restaurant and Bar serves American cuisine and focuses on local meat. Raw Sushi Bar and Grill is a local family business that specializes in unique types and designs of sushi. Gustavo’s offers a wide selection of authentic Mexican food. If you get the opportunity to visit Gustavos, try one of the customer favorites such as Burrito Supreme, Nachos Supremos, and Tacos de Carne Asada.

GOLF COURSES AND PARKS IN LA GRANGE

There are three golf courses in La Grange: Eagle Creek Golf Course, Oldham County Golf Course, and Sleepy Hollow Golf Course. Eagle Creek is a public golf course located at 2820 S. Highway 53. Eagle Creek offers 18 holes and is open seven days a week. Oldham County Country Club is a semi-private 18-hole golf course located at 1870 Country Club Lane.  Sleepy Hollow is a public 9-hole golf course located at 4231 S. Highway 1694.
There are four parks in La Grange: Eddie Mundo Jr. Park, John T. Walsh Park, Wilborn Park, and The Glen Park. Eddie Mundo Jr. Park is a park that was created in memorial for a cop that was killed on the job. This park connects with Wilborn Park. The Walsh Park is named after a local doctor. The North Oldham Little League uses this park for baseball games. The Wilborn Park was created in honor the former mayor and his wife. This park has areas where you can fish. The newest park in La Grange is The Glen. The Glen is a conservation park that is also used to teach students about nature.

SCHOOLS IN LA GRANGE

Oldham County is known for their award-winning school district. The six public schools in La Grange are Oldham County Preschool, Buckner Elementary School, LaGrange Elementary School, Oldham County Middle School, Buckner Alternative School, and Arvin Education Center.
